Fish swimming the seas of Menorca Shoal of fish in Menorca

Go! Nautic - Weekly Yacht Charter

A week sailing around Menorca

The best way to discover the island is via a boat or yacht.  You will be able to cruise around the island, stopping along the way to relax at anchor in the many coves and swim in the crystal clear seas that have made Menorca famous.  There will be time for diving and snorkelling to watch the thousands of brilliantly coloured fish around the boat, and still plenty of time for sunbathing and relaxing.  For climbing addicts, you can be taken to just a few metres from the cliff face; and for all the family there will be the fishing villages of Menorca to visit and sample their local fare while on the restaurant terrace.

Sailing distances

In Menorca the sailing distances are usually short given the number of coves and beaches around the coast.  Normally, taking a yacht for 1 to 3 hours of sailing is sufficient enough to take you to a suitable location for swimming, relaxing and diving and with time to return to the harbour.

We do not have established routes since we prefer to plan your day out according to your wishes and the meteorological conditions at the time.  Your yacht's skipper will inform you of the best options for each day.

For those who would like a longer and even more interesting sailing charter excursion, you can sail over to Mallorca, where you can pass beside the scenic mountains rising up to 2000 meters above you.  On average it takes approximately 6 hours to cover the distance between the nearest points of the islands of Menorca and Mallorca.

Information and on-board yacht equipment

On board the yacht there is snorkelling equipment available, but if you wish to try the unforgettable experience of underwater diving (deep sea diving), just let us know and we shall be pleased to arrange a private lesson with a fully qualified instructor.(PADI - Professional Association of Diving Instructors)

If fishing is your preferred sport, then we can supply you on request with all the necessary equipment.  You will only need to bring the bait. Please note however that you will need to have a fishing permit and be aware of the regulations controlling fishing in the area.

You will have a professional skipper responsible for the yacht and for your welfare.  Every effort will be made to ensure the time on board will be all that you could hope for and more.  He will be familiar with the best places to visit and the island as well as an experienced skipper capable to managing the yacht single handed.  However, any help will be welcomed and instruction on yacht navigation or sailing techniques freely given.

Catering and Schedule

The catering is also considered a vital ingredient to making that day out something special and the day excursion will include an excellent meal with wine and soft drinks included.

The boat will be yours for the weekly charter from Saturday morning at 10.00 h until 18.00 h of the following Friday. If you arrive in Menorca the previous evening, we will make every effort to have the boat clean and prepared for you to sleep on board that night at no extra cost.

Travelling farther afield (Balearic Islands)

Two or three weeks will be needed to sail around the other islands of the Balearics.  This offers you a magnificent opportunity of exploring this part of the Mediterranean Sea, with each island having it's own character and features.  A visit to Mallorca can be comfortable managed with a week-long yacht charter but consult our price list for special discounts on longer charters. Other destinations for your yacht charter holiday include the following.

  • Mallorca, the largest island of the archipelago has a distinctive mountain range on the north coast and Palma, the capital has plenty to offer any visitor; including shops, restaurants, architecture, culture and evening entertainment.

  • Ibiza is well known for the night life and discos, besides the sunshine and beaches.

  • The smaller islands of Formentera and Cabrera are nature reserves and known for their peace and quiet.  Permission will have to be requested in advance for any visits to Cabrera.
